UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA) - Caught on tape, a suspected thief-- police say-- was cleaning out a Nordstrom's warehouse and running a one-man department store out of his home.
At Prince George's County police headquarters, the recovered merchandise was on display.

Police arrested 32-year-old Donnell Angelo Norman of Waldorf, on June 19 for his involvement in an organized theft ring. Thousands of dollars worth of clothing, jewelry and assorted merchandise were recovered.

On June 18, a loss prevention officer at the Nordstrom warehouse in Bowie saw Norman opening boxes and concealing assorted merchandise. He then left the warehouse, placed the merchandise in his vehicle and returned to working at the warehouse.

Sgt. Aubrey Thompson of the Special Enforcement Division said that Norman "would sell it (the merchandise) from his house like it was a Nordstrom Counter."

Norman was arrested for stolen merchandise recovered on his person. While Norman was incarcerated, investigators obtained a court-ordered search warrant on his vehicle, cell phone and his home. Norman was released on his own personal recognizance after the search warrant was executed. Police recovered approximately $2,000 of stolen merchandise from Norman's vehicle and $38,000 in assorted jewelry and clothing from his residence.

The investigation is ongoing.
