WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA) -  Monday at 6:30 a.m., "Rush Plus" begins. The major service adjustment for Metrorail affects about 110,000 riders on the Green, Yellow, Blue and Orange lines.

Customers will need to pay close attention to their destinations and the trains they're boarding on the start of Metro's new plan to make commuting faster and more comfortable.

According to Metro, the plan will improve service on the Green, Yellow, and Orange lines by adding six trains to each of the 21 stations during rush hour.

Metro says the Orange line between Vienna and the Largo Town Center will have about 18 percent more capacity or 2,600 seats per hour as a result of three additional trains in each direction during both the morning and evening rush hours.

9News Now spoke with riders who said if the plan works it will provide some extremely welcome and long overdue relief from their long and difficult commute.

"Yeah, anything to help because right now a lot of things are negative," one Metro ride said.

Kristin Fisher will have reports at the Metro station throughout Monday morning.
