WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Nationals manager Jim Riggleman's sudden resignation is the talk of the town.  Friday, his night ON the town is the talk on Twitter.

Jim Riggleman did what a lot of guys might do after having a showdown with their boss and losing their job -- he went to a bar and drowned his sorrows. Only most guys wouldn't have pictures of said-drowning splashed all over the Internet.

As you know, Riggleman left the Nationals in a blaze of glory Thursday, demanding that his contract be renewed by the end of the game, or he was walking out. The Nats said no, Riggleman quit, and apparently went straight to Caddies in Bethesda, where he had some drinks and was photographed with various patrons -- some of which he may live to regret.

Riggleman then went on 106.7 The Fan on Friday morning to explain. See what he said in the video.

Riggleman did not discuss his plans for the future, but he did single out one guy whom he called a snake and the "Impetus for him no longer being the manager of this team", legendary Washington Post columnist Tom Boswell.

The National Bench Coach, John McLarren, was tapped as the team's interim manager Friday. He was the Mariners' skipper in 2007 and 2008. He has 41 years of baseball experience as a player coach and manager.
