Police Investigate Home-Invasion, Shooting In Gaithersburg

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA) -- A Gaithersburg man is recovering from a gun shot wound after he confronted two suspects he found inside his home.

Officials tell 9 NEWS NOW Montgomery County Police were called to the 200 block of Lee Street around 8:30 Wednesday night for a report of shots fired in the area of Summit Crest Apartments.

Police arriving on scene discovered a 25-year-old man suffering from a minor gun shot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released.

Police say the 25-year-old victim was injured when he returned home to find two suspects inside his residence in the unit block of Crestwood Drive. The victim chased the suspects from the home and multiple shots were fired. Police say it is unknown if anything was taken from the residence.

Montgomery County Police are looking for two black males, one with a light complexion and the other with dark features. Both suspects are approximately 6' tall and both had on black ski masks. Police say they were last scene running toward North Summit Avenue.
