RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A winter storm has left more than 109,000 customers in Virginia without electricity.
More than 70,000 Dominion Virginia Power customers didn't have electricity as of 12:47 p.m. Monday. About 62,800 of the outages are in Northern Virginia.
Dominion also reports more than 2,800 outages in both the Richmond metro area and the Shenandoah Valley-Western Piedmont area. There are smaller outages in other areas Dominion serves.
About 34,000 outages have been reported by Virginia's electric cooperatives.
Appalachian Power reports about 5,200 outages, including more than 1,900 in Campbell County.
