Thong Ba Huynh of Germantown, Md. dies in head-on collision

GERMANTOWN, Md. (WUSA9) -- Montgomery County police have identified the Germantown man killed in a head-on collision Sunday evening on Great Seneca Highway in Germantown.

At approximately 5:58 p.m., officers responded to Great Seneca Highway and Clopper Road for a report of a personal injury collision, accoridng to police. They found that a 2013 Hyundai Elantra was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Great Seneca Highway when it collided head-on with a 2006 Toyota Camry.

Fifty-two-year-old James Thomas Marks of North Bethesda was driving the Hyundai and 55-year-old Kim Dung T Nguyen of Germantown was driving the Toyota, say police. Both drivers were transported to local hospitals.

Seventy-seven-year-old Thong Ba Huynh , who had been riding in the Toyota, was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Another passenger, 74-year-old Nguc Dung Thi Than, was also transported to the hospital, say police. Police say both passengers lived in Germantown.

A third vehicle was damaged by debris from the initial collision, say police.
