WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- DC police are hoping tattoos on a dead man's body can help identify him.
Police pulled the body out of the Anacostia River at the 1500 block of M Street, SE on August 10.
"The decedent has been determined to be a black male, 5'3" in height, 122 pounds, in his mid to late 20's. He has a tattoo of a "W" in black ink, a "D" in black ink, and a pair of dice in black ink, surrounded by what appears to be flames, also in black ink. These tattoos are on his left forearm. He also has two teardrops tattooed under his left eye (not pictured)," Metropolitan Police said in a news release.
Anyone who knows the identity of the decedent or has information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department's TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
