ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man was arrested in Las Vegas on Sunday for a sexual assault that happened in Arlington in 2010, say police.

According to Arlington County police, a man sexually assaulted and photographed a woman while she was unconscious in the Clarendon area on December 26, 2010 between 2 a.m. and 2:33 a.m.

Police say they identified Joseph Rivera, 34, formerly of Alexandria, Va. as the suspect in the assault.

Sunday, Rivera was arrested in Las Vegas, NV, say police. He is awaiting extradition to Virginia to face charges.

Arlington County police say the Fairfax County Police Department is now handling the case. Fairfax County police said Rivera used to work as a private disc jockey at parties and hosted bartending competitions around the region.

Fairfax County police also said in an earlier press release that "Rivera allegedly filmed several women unbeknownst to them and retained those films. Some of the victims were also allegedly sexually assaulted. Detectives have identified some of the victims; others are unknown to police."

Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Adult Sex Crimes Unit are available to speak with victims at 703-246-7830.
