WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- My message tonight is for Edward Snowden himself.
My brother, its time to come home.
No, all is not forgiven and yes you're probably going on trial since that's what happens when you admit to leaking precious government secrets. But while your Uncle Sam is furious with you, your fellow Americans are split right down the middle on whether or not you're a bad guy.
Only by coming back here to face the music can you make the case to them that what you revealed, they needed to know. Even you can't believe you'll get a better deal from Vladimir Putin.
Instead, you might want to think about the example set by men like Martin luther King Junior or Nelson Mandela. They too broke laws they believed unjust but never ran from the consequences. Instead, they had the integrity to pay the price which is why we revere them today.
Now, Ed I know you may be thinking, I'm only 30 years old, I'm not ready for this.
Well, lets be real: you made that decision when you figured your principles were bigger than the secrets you'd promised to keep.
Now the only question left is whether you stand up for those same principles or whether Americans are left wondering whether you ever really believed in them at all.
