Paper Moon Gentleman's Club in Sprinfield, VA closed for not having a certified food manager and bare hand contact with food
WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA9) -- Combine a strip club, edible gold and a $25,000 dessert platter and you've got the recipe for this week's Restaurant Alert.

Health inspectors temporarily closed Serendipity-3 at 3150 M Street, NW, DC; El Tamarindo at 1185 Florida Avenue, NW, DC; Paper Moon at 6315 Amherst Avenue, Springfield, VA and Le Bledo Bakery at 6691-A Backlick Road, Springfield, VA.
Since WUSA9's Russ Ptacek visited, all the restaurants have passed reinspection and are back in business.
Virginia Strip Club Suspended For Health Violations
The music was thumping and a woman was applying for a job when WUSA9's Russ Ptacek arrived at the noon hour at the gentlemen's club, Paper Moon, located on Amherst Avenue in Springfield, Virginia.
Inspectors cited Paper Moon with 7 infractions, including no one certified in managing food safety and the bare handed violation involving the scooping of salsa with improper utensils, but we did observe them using hand sanitizer.
Virginia Bakery Cited For Using Sink As Dumping Station
Also in Springfield, inspectors shut down Le Bledo Bakery on Backlick Road citing no certified food manager, a hand sink used as a dumping and storage station, and employee medicines not properly located to prevent contamination.
In a statement the owner, Mimi Nguyen, said, "We put a label on my mother's vitamins. She also had a manager's license before. Thank you for your understanding."
Adams Morgan Restaurant Storing Food At Wrong Temps
On Florida Avenue in Northwest DC, inspectors closed El Tamarindo for storing cold foods at temperatures that could make you sick. Officials noted raw shrimp, chicken, milk and cream, stored at 57 degrees and raw steak stored at 68 degrees. The maximum temperature allowed is 41.
The owner says the problem was with the freezer and it was fixed the next day.
Inspectors also cited the Adams Morgan Mexican and Salvadoran restaurant for mold in the ice machine and for not having anyone certified to manage food safety issues like safe storage temperatures.
Georgetown Restaurant Cited For Unsanitary Conditions
On M Street in Georgetown, Serendipity-3 promotes itself as "serious food" and it can carry a serious price tag.
On its website, Serendipity-3 shows off its "Frrrozen Haute Chocolate" served in a baccarat crystal goblet with edible gold, a diamond bracelet and jewel encrusted spoon. Inside, inspectors cited no business license and gross unsanitary conditions.
Inspectors cited Serendipity-3 for not having hot water at the required 110 degree at some of its sinks.
Officials also cited the restaurant for bacon stored at 48 degrees, beef at 45 degrees and other perishable foods stored above the required maximum of 41 degrees.
The manager at Serendipity-3 blames the improper temperatures on just having moving meat from one refrigerator to the other. As for the hot water in the bathroom, he doesn't believe the inspector let the water run long enough to get an accurate reading.
The manager says he's fixed all the problems, has gotten a new business license and Serendipity-3 is back to selling their high dollar dessert.
Since WUSA9 visited the above establishments, all of them have passed reinspection and are back in business.
