BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA9) -- While the tournament does not begin for two more days, there is still plenty going on here at congressional.
For one thing, It's kids day.
WUSA9 caught up with children from the First Tee of Washington DC. This is a youth development organization that uses golf to teach core values like honesty, integrity, responsibility etc.
They toured the course, had a junior golf clinic and generally enjoyed the day.
Dolly Davis says, "This is what its all about... people coming out... enjoying their families... having a good time with their friends and enjoying the game of golf... and then when you bring the kids let them see about what the game of golf is all about and teach them so we can have the next generation of golfers."
This generation of golfers signed their names alongside wounded warriors for the dedication at the "We Salute Our Heroes" tribute wall.
The wall which is near the 18th green allows fans to write a personal message thanking those serving in the military. The golfers were happy to honor them.
"We wouldn't be here we, wouldn't be able to play golf in such a beautiful place..be here be free, protecting this country so we owe pretty much everything to them," said Jason Kokrak.
Will Claxton, a PGA Golfer said, "Well I think it supports such a great cause, the whole tournament here just supporting the military, its very important."
