WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Authorities responded to a home at 1 Hartley Place in Gaithersburg, Md. Thursday morning after a reported bear sighting. The juvenile bear was estimated to weigh around one hundred pounds and ate from a bird feeder on the deck of Cathy and Bill Garner's home. Cathy Garner and a responding Montgomery County police officer snapped the photos of the bear. The bear reportedly arrived at 8:45 A.M. and ate for about half an hour before leaving. Even though the bear was not aggressive officials advise that people should not attempt to chase, come close to, or attempt to feed any bear at any time. There were also multiple reports of bear sightings in Gaithersburg on Wednesday. Maryland Natural Resources officials are in the area prepared to tranquilize and relocate the bear if additional sightings are reported. However, officials will not actively search for the bear, said Paul Peditto, Director of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Heritage Divi
