DC Shooting Victim Driven To Hospital Later Dies

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Police officials say a man shot at 18th and D Streets NE in D.C. was driven to Washington Hospital Center, where he later died.

The shooting was reported at approximately 9:42 p.m., say police. When police arrived at the scene they say they found out the man was taken to the hospital by some other people.

Forty-five-year-old Lawrence David Phillips of D.C. was admitted to the hospital and critical condition and later died, say polce.

Police do not have a motive or suspect in the shooting at this time. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Anonymous information may be submitted to the department's TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.

The Metropolitan Police Department offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide.
