Practice Window Safety And Protect Your Children
GAITHERSBURG, Md., (WUSA) -- It's mile enough to open the windows.
But, every year 5,200 children fall from them, and some of them die.
And that brings us to National Window Safety Week. This does not have to happen to you
Parents, don't rely on screens for safety. The keep insects out, but they don't keep kids in.
While you're at it, move any furniture the kids can climb onto away from the windows.
You should keep the windows closed and locked when they aren't in use.
And, install window guards or locks to help prevent falls.
