ACCOKEEK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County Police say they arrested the second suspect in the April 2 robbery of an 80-year-old woman in Accokeek.
Police say 24-year-old Michael Elijah Brown of Hyattsville was developed as a suspect and arrested n April 4 in Montgomery County. Brown is charged with robbery and assault, say police.
Previously, police arrested 25-year-old LeJean Nicola Lancaster of Lanham.
The woman's purse was stolen at a restaurant in the 7000 block of Berry Road, say police. According to their investigation, Lancaster held open the door of the restaurant for the woman and her husband. Then, Lancaster pushed the woman and grabbed her purse, say police. As Lancaster tried to run away, she was tackled and held down by the woman's husband and a Good Samaritan, say police, but Lancaster bit both men, causing minor injuries.
Police say another man walked up and hit the Good Samaritan in the face to try to free Lancaster, but failed and so he ran away. Brown is believed to be this man.
Lancaster was arrested at the scene and admitted to the robbery, say police.
