DUMFRIES, Va. (WUSA9) -- An 8-year-old boy was reportedly grabbed and then carried to another side of the street by a stranger as he was walking home on Saturday evening, say Prince William County Police.
The incident happened in the 3600 block of Masthead Tr in Dumfries, Va. at approximately 6:45 p.m., say police. The boy told them that a strange man approached him and then grabbed him. The man then allegedly carried the boy to the other side of the street and let him go, say police. The boy ran home and someone called the police.
Police say they used a K-9 unit to search for the suspect, but did not find the man. Police also say no one witnessed the incident or reported seeing a suspicious person or vehicle.
Police say the man was described as a black male between 30 and 40 years old about 5'10" tall with a muscular build. He had long, shoulder length dreads or braids and didn't have facial hair. The man was wearing a black t-shirt, black sweatpants and black Croc-style shoes at the time of the incident, according to police.
