SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA) -- Montgomery County Police say the same three people may have committed two armed robberies in the county and they have released surveillance photographs hoping that the public can help identify the suspects.
The first robbery happened on January 16 at approximately 9:44 p.m., say police. According to police, they responded for the report of a robbery in the area of Colesville Road and East-West Highway. Police say a 31-year-old man was walking in the 8300 block of Colesville Road when someone grabbed him from behind and pulled him to the ground. Then, two other people searched him and stole property, say police. The robbers were reportedly last seen running into a parking garage on Colesville Road.
The next day at approximately 1:46 a.m., police responded to the same area (Colesville Road and East-West Highway) for the report of a robbery. In this case, two friends were walking together on Colesville Road when they were approached by three people, say police. According to police, one suspect grabbed one victim's cell phone and punched him in the face at the intersection. Police say when the other victim tried to help the friend, he was also punched in his face. Then, the three robbers fled on foot, say police.
The robbers are described as black males, approximately 25 to 30 years old. One suspect was wearing a black hoodie jacket and another suspect was wearing a tan jacket and had a mustache, say police.
