WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- WUSA9 Partners With Safeway's "Round Up for Hunger" Campaign to Feed Hungry In Washington and Baltimore area.

What do you do with the change you get back when you do your grocery shopping? This month, all Safeway stores in the Washington and Baltimore areas are asking you to "Round Up For Hunger and donate it. They hope to raise $100,000 for the Capital Area Food Bank.

Debra Alfarone, Reporter at WUSA9, helped out today, by bagging groceries for a good cause at the Safeway in Georgetown. "One thing I know for sure is it's important to give back, and this food bank helps feed hundreds of our neighbors who need it most.."

"Customers do not have to give a large amount of money to make a huge difference," says Greg Ten Eyck, director of public affairs for Safeway's Eastern Division and Board Chair of the Capital Area Food Bank. "There is an increased need for food assistance right now, and if everyone just donates a few cents when they shop, together we can help the people in our community who need it most."
Ten Eyck says they raised $151,000 last year with this campaign, which proves a little can go a long way.
