FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA) -- Frederick police say they are now looking for a newer model Infiniti or Nissan Altima in an armed robbery at a jewelry store from earlier this month. They also released a photo of the car from surveillance video on Friday. The vehicle was seen leaving last seen speeding eastbound on East Church Street after the robbery on Feb. 5.
Three suspects were caught on tape pepper spraying Colonial Jewelers employees and customers at 1 South Market Street at about 1:30 p.m. One man entered the store with a gun and two others followed. One man was holding a can of pepper spray.
The men ordered everyone to get down on the floor, broke a glass jewelry case, grabbed jewelry and fled the scene, police said. Frederick Police said the men deployed pepper spray on their way out.
Alonzo Meadows of Fairfax, Va. was arrested in relation to the robbery earlier this month for driving the black pickup truck originally believed to be the vehicle the suspects fled in. He was held by D.C. police on a fugitive warrant. No word yet on whether charges have been dropped for Meadows.
Police are trying to identify two other suspects.
