WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- You have less than 9 weeks to get those taxes in and as you procrastinate a little bit longer about getting everything done, here are a couple of Tax Tasks you can plan to work on this weekend. They will help make the actual process a less less painful.

1. Marketwatch recommends you track down stray forms.
The W-2s and 10-99s should all have been postmarked by Jan. 31 so they should be arriving by now. If anything is still missing by next week, then track them down. This is particularly important if you've moved in the past year or so.

2. If you don't have a filing system for you taxes, this is a perfect time to get one. Keep everything in one place. Set up a folder for 2012 taxes so you are ready when it's time to fill out the forms or send the info to your accountant. Also, set up a folder for 2013 right now, too.

3. If you run a small business, then you should know these dates: If you file 10-99s on paper, then you have to get them stamped and mailed by Feb. 28.  If you file electronically, you have a little more time -- up until March 31.  You should have sent those W-2s and 1099s to employees and other recipients by Jan. 31.

4. Finally, schedule your tax appointment. It never hurts to say hi to your accountant. Meeting face to face also gives you time talk about tax-planning for this year. You can also get some feedback about personal finance issues -- such as saving for college or buying or selling a home.
