WASHINGTON (AP) - A light snow is making commuting more difficult in the Washington area.

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management says federal agencies are open, but employees have the option to take unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework.

The Virginia Railway Express says it is operating on a full schedule, but the passenger rail service is urging commuters to exercise caution as crews clean and de-ice platforms. The winter weather also slowed the morning commute on area roadways and prompted school closings and delays across the Baltimore-Washington area.
