WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Chrysler has been given the all clear by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after concern over possible engine fires in the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Last year, safety regulators checked 107,000 of the SUVs after receiving complaints of a loose power steering hose that leaked fluid onto the engine.

The problem was actually traced to a defect in the hose which was fixed at the factory.

The government says the problem has not caused an unreasonable safety risk but will continue to monitor the vehicle.
