WASHINGTON (AP) - The District of Columbia Public Charter School Board is hosting an expo for parents to learn about charter school options and is launching a new mobile app to provide information on each school.
The fourth annual Charter School Expo opens at noon Saturday at the Washington Convention Center. It will be open until 4 p.m. and is expected to draw thousands of parents.
Mayor Vincent Gray is expected to attend to help launch the new MyDCcharters mobile app. It will provide detailed information on Washington's public charter schools. The app is being launched with the wireless industry association CTIA.
The public charter school board currently oversees 57 schools serving more than 35,000 students.
