Lacroix Floyd of Washington, D.C., pleads guilty to charge of drug possession with intent to distribute

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA)  - Lacroix Floyd, 36, of Washington, D.C., pled guilty today to a federal drug charge following the seizure of crack cocaine and other drugs during a U.S. Park Police investigation in September 2012,  according to U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Machen Jr.

Floyd pled guilty to a charge of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine. He faces a likely range of about 21 to 27 years in prison.incarceration, and the offense requires a mandatory term of 10 years of incarceration. He has also agreed to forfeit $4,109. he is scheduled to be sentenced in March 2013.

According to court documents, on Sept. 18, 2012, the U.S. Park Police stopped Floyd's car near the 2600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE. They ultimately discovered 13.4 grams of crack cocaine from a plastic bag that was secreted near the defendant's buttocks and $109 in cash.

A day later, Park Police officers searched an apartment where the defendant had been residing since his release from jail a few weeks earlier. At that apartment, in the 2300 block of Green Street SE, officers discovered digital scales, 457.1 grams of crack cocaine, 139.3 grams of powder cocaine, and $4,000 in cash.
