    Brookside Gardens (Wheaton Regional Park)

    A great light show can always be found in Wheaton Regional Park at Brookside Gardens in Silver Spring. Brookside Gardens cover fifty acres with the park and has over 600,000 lights. It's fun for the whole family. The display runs through the sixth of January and is open from 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM. (Get there by 8:30 PM or they will not let your car in the park.)  The display is closed December 24th , Christmas Night and New Year's Eve. Forty thousand folks come and see the exhibit every year. You can walk around and it's as if you are in another world. You could even take a Christmas card photo with one of the displays in the background. You can hear live music, buy some refreshments and shop in the holiday gift shop. Admission is twenty to twenty five dollars per car depending on the night you drop by.  Please call 301-962-1453 for questions.



    Mormon Temple in Kensington


    The Mormon Temple has long featured one of the region's most superb holiday light shows.  The Temple along the Capital Beltway in Montgomery County, Maryland, is hard to miss and time during the year; but during the holiday season, the grounds becoming breathtaking.  The 52-acre wooded site hosts many seasonal exhibits including a live nativity scene, international nativity sets and nightly concerts along with a spectacular display of over 450,000 lights.  Admission is free and runs through the first and is open from dusk to ten. Live musical performances begin at 7 PM and 8 PM. Tickets will be available 90 minutes before each performance at the main theater. Traffic congestion can become slow at times so be sure to allow extra time to enjoy this holiday staple in the Metro Area.
