LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA) -- Loudoun County Sheriff's Office investigators now say the driver of a bus involved in a crash in Leesburg on Friday pulled into the path of a truck. The driver has been cited for failure to yield the right of way.
Forty one high school students were on board the bus, which was making its way to Manassas, when it was involved in a crash with a pick-up truck at Route 15 and Masons Lane at approximately 5:15 p.m. Authorities say that the bus pulled onto Route 15 from Masons Lane into the path of the truck.
The driver, another adult and five juveniles from the bus were taken to the hospital. They have been treated and released.
Students who were not injured were taken to their destination on another bus.
The scene was closed for almost two hours for clean-up and investigation.
