1 Seriously Injured In Md. Mobile Home Fire

ELKRIDGE, Md. (WUSA) -- Sunday night, an adult was seriously injured and five other people were displaced after a fire at a mobile home in Howard County, Md.

Howard County fire officials say firefighters responded to a mobile home in the 8000 block of Keeton Road in Elkridge at approximately 7 p.m. on Sunday. According to officials, firefighters found fire underneath the mobile hope rapidly spreading to the inside of the home.

Firefighters were able to get the fire extinguished in about 20 minutes but  one resident of the home had to be transported to Johns Hopkins-Bayview Medical Center with serious, non-life threatening injuries. 

Officials say the American Red Cross helped four adults and one child who were displaced by the fire.

The Howard County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the fire.

Officials say the damage estimate is approximately $20,000.
