ALDIE, Va. (WUSA) -- A Virginia man is behind bars after soliciting sexual activities from children on Facebook while posing as a fellow student, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) informed.
Robert B. Rennie, Jr. of Loudoun County was arrested and charged on Oct. 24 with five counts of use of a computer to solicit a child less than 15-year-old, the Sheriff's Office said.
According to authorities, the investigation began when a Lunsford Middle School staff member informed a member of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) School Resource Officer Unit about suspicious activity on a student's Facebook page.

The Sheriff's Office says the student accepted a "friend request" from a person she believed was a student at the middle school. During a conversation the person, who posed as "Kyle Kirts," solicited sexual activity from the minor. Her parents alerted the school about the incident and the school's personnel alerted LCSO.
After an investigation, the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Unit learned that the account belonged to the suspect, 43-year-old Rennie, Jr. of Aldie, Va.
Authorities say Rennie "portrayed himself as a student at Lunsford Middle School and had primarily young girls on his 'friend' list. During chats, the person known as 'Kyle Kirts' would quickly ask females to move to a Skype account for sexual reasons."
During the investigation the Sheriff's Office identified several other victims. Rennie also made contact with students from Mercer Middle School, authorities informed.
This investigation is ongoing.
If your child had contact with a "Kyle Kirts" or Robert Bruce Rennie, Jr. the Sheriff's Office asks to contact Detective P. Beaver at 703-777-0475.
Rennie is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
