Customer exiting bank in Takoma Park, Md., robbed and shot by man with handgun Monday, according to police

TAKOMA PARK, Md. (WUSA) - A customer leaving a local bank just before 7 p.m. Monday was robbed and shot by a man with a handgun, according to Takoma Park police.

The person had left the bank in the 1100 block of University Blvd. when a black male approached, armed with a handgun. The victim was shot and money was taken, police report.

The victim, suffering from non-life threatening injuries, was taken the hospital. The suspect is described as a black male, with medium to dark skin, approximately 5'0, skinny build, 170-190 lbs., last seen wearing a black hat, black jacket, black or gray shoes, and gray pants made out of "slacks" material (not jeans), with a handgun.
