CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (WUSA) - In Capitol Heights, Prince George's County Ppolice put on heavy patrols to protect kids walking to and from Central High School.
This is after the stunning murder of honor roll student Marckel Ross who was gunned down while walking to school Tuesday morning.
Scott Broom reported from Capitol Heights with the latest developments in this case.
The death of a promising young man has prompted enough understandable fear that his mother is talking about transferring her two young sons, Marckel's brothers to another school district, in part because there are just no answers yet about motive in this murder.
But with no bus service within a 1.8 mile radius of school -- and many parents working early or without cars -- lots of kids have no option but to keep on walking in uncertainty. See above video for Scott's complete report.
