BELTSVILLE, Md. (WUSA) - A Beltsville Banquet Hall has been shut down by Prince George's County code enforcement workers who have cited the owner for use and occupancy permit violations.
Police said the Rendezvous Banquet Hall at 10207 Southard Drive has also been linked to police calls for service. "An assault that occurred at the location posed a danger to the community and was also a contributing factor to its closure," according to a police statement posted on the department's blog.
Police did not provide specific information about the incident, despite numerous requests from 9News Now.
The banquet hall is among at least a dozen businesses shut down by use and occupancy regulations in Prince George's County in the last year, after the county council passed the so-called "Dance Hall Bill" in an effort to stop violence around late-night establishments.
