WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- A man who was brutally assaulted in Capitol Hill last month is getting better at the hospital, say authorities.
Thomas Maslin has been upgraded from serious to fair at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
The 29-year-old husband and father was found unconscious on the front porch of a house blocks from his home near Eastern Market on August 18. Investigators later found out that he had been assaulted and his credit card may have been used after the attack.
Maslin underwent brain surgery and fell into a coma.
Friends of the family said Maslin had gone to a Nationals game Friday evening and later went for a drink in Capitol Hill.
