WASHINGTON (WUSA) --  Clint Eastwood's appearance at the Republican National Convention seems to have inspired some Democrats to vouch for a celebrity guest speaker of their own.

An online petition has been started on Change.org with the goal of having actress Betty White speak at the Democratic National Convention.

"Clint Eastwood, the Republican's 'mystery guest' at the RNC, gave a bad name to older Americans everywhere with his absurd and awkward-to-watch introduction of Governor Romney," The petition reads. "You know what?  Governor Romney can have Clint Eastwood and his improvisational skills because President Obama has the one and only Betty White!  Take action today if you want to see a real [old] Hollywood icon get a political introduction right!"

See the full petition on Change.org.  As of 11:05 a.m. on Monday, 2,954 supporters had signed.
