BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA) -- Back to school time is here. Classes resume Monday in Maryland in Allegany, Anne Arundel, Charles, Frederick, Garrett and Montgomery counties.

Early Monday morning, WUSA 9's Andrea McCarren talked to Dr. Joshua Starr, the superintendent of Montgomery County Public Schools. Last year was Dr. Starr's first year as superintendent and he talked to her about that transition and what's in store for this year.

Watch the interview above.

McCarren also spoke to Jennifer Baker, who is the principal of Walter Johnson High School. See what Baker had to say about the new school year in the attached video.

School also begins in the District as well as in Loudoun County, Virginia on Monday. Most other schools in the Commonwealth start classes next week.
