WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- A 30-year-old man has been charged with misdemeanor sexual abuse after being accused of several sexual assaults in the Dupont Circle Northwest area, say D.C. police.
Thursday night, police arrested Oscar Mauricio Carnejo-Pena of Northwest Washington, D.C. and charged him with four counts of misdemeanor sexual abuse.
Carnejo-Pena is accused of four sexual assaults that happened in the first two weeks of August. Two assaults happened in the 1200 block of Connecticut Avenue, one assault in the 1900 block of Q Street and another assault 16th and U streets. In each case, a man approached women, touched them inappropriately and then fled.
Police say Carnejo-Pena was identified as the suspect after an investigation. Police are trying to determine if he may be responsible for any other assaults.
