SPRINGFIELD, Va. (WUSA) -- The early morning commute has been a rough one on I-95 in Virginia, thanks to incidents in Springfield and Stafford County.

Two crashes in the northbound lanes of the interstate has led to significant delays, and our birds-eye view from SKY 9 is showing no sign of relief.

The first incident occurred in Stafford County just before Route 630/Courthouse Road when a vehicle overturned around 4:30 a.m. Virginia State Police responded to the scene where at least one person was injured. The victim's current condition is unknown at this time. Police say the road reopened around 6:11 a.m.

The Twitter feed for the Metropolitan Area Transportation Operations Coordination (MATOC) Program reported delays up to six miles in the area.

Later in the morning another collision briefly shut down the northbound lanes of I-95 near Backlick Road in Springfield. Virginia State Police say the crash involved property damage only and was moved to the left shoulder.

Unfortunately the damage to the commute had already been done. At last check, traffic in the northbound lanes was backed up to Woodbridge.
