WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Authorities say a D.C. police officer allegedly threatened to shoot Michelle Obama Wednesday morning.
Gwen Crump, spokesperson for D.C. police, confirmed that the police department received an allegation that inappropriate comments were made and are currently being investigated.
The Washington Post reported that the officer, who worked as a motorcycle escort for White House officials, made the comments as the Special Operations Division discussed threats against President Obama. The officer then allegedly said he would shoot the First Lady and showed a picture of his gun on his phone.
An officer overheard the threat and and reported it to the police lieutenant of the Division.
D.C. police immediately reassigned the officer to other duties after the allegations.
