CULPEPER, Va. (WUSA) -  An unattended death that is termed as suspicious is under investigation, according to the Culpeper Police.

Monday at about 7:30 p.m., police were called to the 1100 block of Meander Drive for the unattended death of a 35-year-old man.

The body of Ramiro Rodriguez de la Rosa was taken to the state medical examiner's office in Manassas for an autopsy. The medical examiner has not yet determined a cause of death, and authorities are waiting for the results of toxicology tests before making that determination.

"We are treating this death as suspicious due to the age of the victim," said Detective Sgt. Jeff Dodson, lead investigator on the case.

Police discovered that the victim may have been involved in an altercation at the Sleepy Hollow Trailer Park between 12:30 and 12:45 a.m., but say they are not sure if the alleged altercation is related to de la Rosa's death.

Anyone with information about the death or the alleged altercation may anonymously contact Crime Solvers or directly contact Dodson at 540-829-5526.
