WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- A new study has some good news when it comes to traffic congestion in our region.
A group named Inrix conducted a study on traffic congestion and found that the DC area has the the 6th worst congestion in the country. The area was fourth place a year ago, so we're getting better.
Last month, the average DC area driver wasted 2 hours and 48 minutes in traffic. That time is down 54 minutes from one year ago, and down more than 2 hours from two years ago.
The study found Tuesday is the worst for the morning commute in the DC area. Friday is the worst evening commute.
So if we'ere number 6, who is above us? The place with the worst congestion in the nation is Honolulu. It's followed by Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and then Bridgeport, Connecticut. Baltimore is 16th on the list.
