Fairfax, Va. (WUSA) -- After a near year-long search for the so called serial 'Butt Slasher,' police say they have the accused in custody.
Police arrested Jimmy Pimentel in his home country of Peru Friday.
Ruthie Huttenlecker comes to Fair Oaks Mall with her husband every day.
"I was glad he got caught. I said he thought he was going to get away but they got him anyway. It didn't stop me from coming here. It didn't hurt the mall."
20-year-old Jessica Blanton says, "When it first happened I was scared to come here. I was actually in the forever 21 store the day before he was there, now that he's caught it feels good."

Fairfax County Police say they linked 40-year-old Johnny Pimentel to 9 slashing of women's backsides in Northern Virginia including two at Tysons Corner Center and 5 at Fair Oaks Mall.
The slasher left a 3-inch gash on the buttocks of a 20-year old pregnant woman leaving Fair Oaks. 9NewsNow talked with the unidentified woman on July 28th.
"There was blood all over my hand," "It was ridiculous. I started freaking out."
Police may have caught the guy before he could strike again. Peruvian Police arrested Pimentel at a shopping mall in Lima.
Blanton says, "Luckily, he was caught before he could do anything else."
Criminal profilers say the butt slasher may have some type of disorder and finds sexual gratification by cutting someone in a sexually significant area.
Fairfax County Police formed a task force and worked with International Police after learning Pimentel may have returned to Peru back in September.
Blanton says, "People who think about committing a crime like this are not going to get away with it."
Fairfax County Police are working to get Pimentel extradited back to the United States.
