An extensive, week-long search for William began after Jane McQuain failed to show up at her workplace and a friend reported her missing. On Oct. 12, police officers went to her apartment and found her dead in her bed, said authorities. An autopsy later revealed she had two stab wounds in her back and suffered blunt force trauma to the head.
