WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Metro unveiled pictures of the 7000 series cars in production now. Three hundred of the sleek new cars will replace the 1970's models that were involved in the deadly Metro crash two years ago.
The new cars, in production now, will be in service in 2013. Sixty-four rail cars will be designated for the Silver line to Dulles.
Vinyl, padded seats that allow for more personal space
Vertical grip poles at each seat
Blue speckled linoleum floors

Metro will also unveil a new escalator at the Foggy Bottom Metro Station Monday, July 11th.
