OXON Hill, Md. (WUSA) -- A DC cop, who was already facing murder charges, is now facing manslaughter charges in the death of an 11-month-old girl, prosecutors said.
Richmond Phillips, 41, of Oxon Hill, is now being charged in the death of Jaylin Wright, the daughter of Wynetta Wright.
Phillips is accused of killing Wynetta Wright and leaving Jaylin in a car after killing her mother, police said.
Wright's family members were in a court hearing Monday, screaming the words "monster" and "trash," at Phillips, as the judge read him his charges.
Court records indicate Wynetta Wright had filed a paternity case against Richmond Phillips.
A court date was scheduled for May 31st. Wright and her daughter had not been seen by family members since the night before the court hearing.
Phillips, an officer in DC's First District, is married with a 12-year-old daughter. The family, including Phillips' mother, lives at a home in Temple Hills.
