WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- A review by Tommy Wells, Chairman of the DC Council Public Works Committee, concludes Council Chairman Kwame Brown was not entitled by law to a luxury Lincoln Navigator at taxpayer expense. Also, Mayor Vincent Gray's administration may have violated the law by making not one but two Navigators available to Brown.
Wells will hold an oversight hearing into the DC Government's leasing and buying vehicles on March 17th.
The law bans vehicles that get less than 22 miles per gallon except in a few security cases such as DC Police, Fire and the Mayor's vehicle.
