SUITLAND, Md. (WUSA/AP) -- Prince George's County police have identified the victim of the 14th homicide of the year in the county as 22-year-old Douglas Hodge Jordan Jr. of Washington.
Corporal Henry Tippett, spokesman for the Prince George's County Police Department, says officers were called to the 3500 block of Terrace Drive in Suitland around 2:30 Wednesday morning for a report of a shooting. Tippett says the responding officers found a man suffering from gun shot wounds in a cul de sac outside an apartment complex. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The killing comes about a week after the county's last homicide.
Police have attempted to curb the violence by adding extra county, state and municipal officers to the areas where the homicides occurred. Federal agents also have been embedded in the homicide unit.
