WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Donnie Bookhardt was locked up  in June after witnesses identified him from police mugshots in an armed home invasion and robbery in Southeast D.C.

From the beginning, Bookhardt claimed he was innocent and had been on his job as a truck driver for Joy Construction company in Hyattsville, Md.

It was more than four months later when the GPS records from the truck and Bookhardt's timesheets were given to defense attorneys who turned them over to prosecutors.

Charges against Bookhardt were dropped in mid-November, but he lost his  job, car and apartment during the four months he spent in jail.
