Police Investigate Two Shootings, Carjacking In DC

WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Police in the District were kept busy overnight responding to two shootings and an armed carjacking.

Officials tell 9 NEWS NOW police were alerted to a shooting in the area of 10th and I Streets in Northeast by Shot Spotter around 12:05 a.m.

Police say officers arriving on the scene found a man suffering from a gun shot wound to the upper body.

According to officials, the victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition

Right now have no info to release on possible suspects or motive in the shooting.

Another shooting, this time in the 2500 block of Pomeroy Road in Southeast DC, sent another man to the hospital with a gun shot wound to the leg around 1:30 Monday morning. The victim's injuries are non-life-threatening.

Police have no information to release on possible suspects in the shooting.

Police also responded to an armed carjacking at 158 Xenia Street in Southeast. Officials say a man was approached by two armed suspects and forced to hand over his 2001 Cadillac shortly after Midnight Monday.

Police say the empty vehicle was recovered in Prince George's County but officers could not locate the two suspects, who had apparently bailed from the car.

Right now police do not have a description available of the two suspects.
