(WUSA) -- Fairfax County Police released sketches of two suspects in connection with the May 17 murder of 39-year-old Jose Ramiro Rosales Cardona in Centreville.

Police believe the shooting was the result of an attempted robbery in the 14200 block of  Compton Road. They say the suspects tried to enter through the garage but were confronted there by one or more occupants of the home. There was an argument, and Cardona, who worked as a handyman for the family, was shot and died of his injuries.

Officials believe the older suspect, with a darker complexion, is the gunman. They say he is in his late 20's to mid 30's and has a distinct raspy voice. He is possibly a heavy smoker.

The younger suspect, police say, is between 20-25 years old. He called the older suspect "Slim."

Police believe the suspects fled in an older model white Toyota pick up truck with dark tinted windows. they believe the suspects used.
