WASHINGTON (AP/WUSA) -- Fire officials say a mid-sized delivery truck has crashed into the Hirshhorn Museum.

It happened Monday about 8:30 p.m. at the museum in southwest Washington.

Fire Department spokesman Pete Piringer says the UPS truck crashed through a post and a flower pot barrier. It ended up at front entrance of museum, breaking a large plate glass window and causing minor structural damage.

Piringer says the truck was fully loaded and D.C. police were called because the truck may contain hazardous materials.

The driver of the truck sustained serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

The cause of the crash has not been determined.
