(USA TODAY) -- Ryan Murphy and the cast, crew and producers ofGleeheld a private memorial for their late co-star Cory Monteith on Thursday.
In a statement from 20th Century Fox Television, we learn that the late actor's girlfriend and co-star Lea Michele was also present, "along with colleagues from the network and studio, to share memories and music in an emotional celebration of the life of Cory Monteith. We thank the public for their continued outpouring of love and support as we grieve our friend and colleague during this difficult time."
Monteith, 31, died on July 13 from an overdose of heroin and alcohol at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in downtown Vancouver.
In an interview with Marie Claire Mexico just weeks before Monteith's death, Michele said, "He is the best person I know, he has made my life so incredible, and I am so thankful for him, and not only to have him as a partner but also as a co-worker."
